It seems no one is buying President Obama’s faux “compromise” attack on religious freedom in America.

Another corner of the veil over ObamaCare recently came off and we realized that this unconstitutional, un-American socialist program attacks religious freedom by mandating religious organizations provide contraception and abortifacients, regardless of whether this violates their conscience or not.

Many Christian organizations, including Priests for Life, EWTN, and Catholic university Ave Maria have made it clear they will not stand for such a frontal assault on religious freedom.

With Democrats running from Obama like rats from a sinking ship over this, the president crafted a meaningless “compromise” to shift (in his mind, at least) the responsibility for providing morally objectionable services from employers to the health insurance agencies they pay for services.

This Jedi mind trick might work on a few liberals already drunk on Obama Koolaid, but it isn’t fooling anyone else.

In a press release from Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) President Marjorie Dannenfelser, she said, “The compromise is unacceptable because it makes government the arbiter of individual conscience,” said Ms. Dannenfelser. “Forcing insurance companies to be directly responsible for providing abortion-inducing drugs and forcing religious organizations to cooperate is an assault on religious freedom.

“Coverage for abortion-inducing drugs such as ella is not preventative women’s healthcare,” Dannenfelser continued. “This intrusion on rights of conscience by the Obama Administration claiming concern for ‘women’s rights or human rights’ puts dangerous ideology over liberty.”

National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) Legislative Director Douglas Johnson said,”President Obama today promulgated a scam that, if he is re-elected, will allow him to mandate that every health plan in America cover abortion on demand,” said NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson. ”The same twisted logic will be applied: By ordering health plans to cover elective abortion, health plans would save the much higher costs of prenatal care, childbirth, and care for the baby — and under the Obama scam, if a procedure saves money, then that means that you’re not really paying for it when the government mandates it.”

Alliance Defense Fund Senior Counsel Doug Napier said today, “The Obama administration’s rule change doesn’t change anything. Employees will still pay for this coverage. Through this sleight of hand, the administration is forcing indirectly what it can’t do directly. It is still forcing people of faith to subsidize practices and treatments that violate their values, their morals, and their religious beliefs. What’s next? Will the administration force Jewish schools to serve pork because it’s ‘good’ for Jewish students? When you take religious liberty from a few, you take religious liberty from all.”

Americans are really waking up to what a petty tyrant Barack Obama is–and along with him, all his Leftist friends. The entire Leftist agenda is anti-freedom and anti-American, and what better time for people to become painfully aware of that than a presidential election year like 2012.
