The President funds the Palestinian Authority despite Congressional freeze on funding.

President Obama, in typical authoritarian style, has chosen to bypass Congress and rule by decree awarding the Palestinian Authority $192 million. Congress placed a freeze on the PA due to their breech of treaty commitments. Information about the President's decision was released on Friday to avoid widespread media coverage as has been the President's practice when working outside the bounds of his authority.
Reporting at National Review, Andrew McCarthy has the details:
White House spinmeister Tommy Vietor stated that President Obama made the decision to pour American taxpayer dollars into Palestinian coffers in order to ensure "the continued viability of the moderate PA government." He added the claim that, as the report puts it, "the PA had fulfilled all its major obligations, such as recognizing Israel's right to exist, renouncing violence and accepting the Road Map for Peace."Apparently creating facts out of thin air is a tenet of President Obama's imperial authority. Dismissing the duly elected representatives of the people and putting them in their place is also common practice in this White House. And for good measure, the administration regularly demonstrates that those old dead white guys writing in 1776 didn't know what they were doing when they put a system of checks and balances into the Constitution. In fact it's as if the Constitution has been deemed too limiting and restrictive for the one we've been waiting for; the one destined to rule. The imperial presidency continues.
In the real world, the very immoderate PA has reneged on all its commitments. In addition to violating its obligations by unilaterally declaring statehood, the PA has also agreed to form a unity government with Hamas, a terrorist organization that is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. The PA continues to endorse terrorism against Israel as "resistance." Moreover, the PA most certainly does not recognize Israel's right to exist.
The Father of our nation, George Washington had a different idea in 1776:
"The Constitution, which at any time exists, 'till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole People, is sacredly obligatory upon all... But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this in one instance may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed. "
