Muslim symbolThe head of a Florida-based pro-family organization says the school board in Tampa has officially declined to adopt a policy prohibiting officials with a pro-sharia group from addressing students in local public schools.

As reported earlier by OneNewsNow, members of the Hillsborough County School Board were bombarded with e-mails from parents concerned that representatives of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) were invited to Steinbrenner High School in Tampa to indoctrinate children with Islamic propaganda, including the virtues of sharia law.
At a recent workshop to discuss the matter, six of seven school board members were not interested in adopting any new policies on the subject.
David Caton, president of the Florida Family Association, says the board has therefore endorsed the continued permission of groups like CAIR to indoctrinate students with pro-Islamic information. He is also critical of what his group describes as "biased" reporting by the local newspaper.
David Caton"This is a very progressive liberal school board that is comforted by the Tampa Tribune," he shares, "and they just basically said if teachers want to invite CAIR officials in to address students on sharia law, that's okay."
But Caton says even though the board did not adopt a policy, he believes it is highly unlikely that any officials from CAIR or similar pro-Muslim political organizations will be invited back because of the huge backlash from the community.
"And in order to make sure this does not happen again, Florida Family Association is offering a reward to any teacher or student or citizen who provides validated information about a future speaking engagement, particularly at this high school," he explains.
Caton says they have already received calls from two teachers at Steinbrenner High School in regard to the anonymous cash rewards -- which are either $1,000 or $2,000, depending how soon they receive the information.
