As President Barack Obama hosted the LGBT community in honor of ‘pride month’ at the White House, he highlighted progress saying change is possible, but it is not inevitable and “requires voting.”
“We now live in an America where all of our marriages and our families are recognized as equal under that law, and that is an extraordinary thing,” Obama said. He said upcoming generations, instinctively know that families are families, and “discrimination is so last century.”
“Some folks never imagined that we would come this far,” Obama said. “But together we proved that change is possible, it is not inevitable though, history does not just travel forward, it can go backwards if we don’t work hard, so we can’t be complacent, we can not be complacent securing the gains that this country has made requires perseverance and vigilance and it requires voting.”
“Enjoy tonight, have some champagne …tomorrow we get back to work,” Obama said.

USING THE POWER OF THE PRESIDENT TO PUSH THE LGBT AGENDA

‘Voting’ isn’t the only weapon in the President’s arsenal.  The President has not been afraid to bully his way into the LGBT discussion, as he has been willing to use the power of the office of attorney-general to promote his agenda.
Recently, Attorney General Loretta Lynch has made the decision to push back on the action by North Carolina Governor  McCrory  to sue the Justice Department to retain its LGBT laws.
“This is not the first time that we have seen discriminatory responses to historic moments of progress for our nation. We saw it in the Jim Crow laws that followed the emancipation proclamation. We saw it in the fierce and widespread resistance to Brown v. Board of education. And we saw it in the proliferation of state bans on same-sex unions that were intended to stifle any hope that gay and lesbian Americans might one day be afforded the right to marry. And that right, of course, is now recognized as a guarantee embedded in our constitution. And in the wake of that historic triumph, we have seen bill after bill in state after state taking aim at the LGBT community.”

“And let me also speak directly to the transgender community itself. Some of you have lived freely for decades, and others of you are still wondering how you can possibly live the lives that you were born to lead. But no matter how isolated, no matter how afraid, and no matter how alone you may feel today, know this — that the department of justice and indeed the entire Obama Administration want you to know that we see you, we stand with you, and we will do everything we can to protect you going forward. And please know that history is on your side. This country was founded on the promise of equal rights for all, and we have always managed to move closer to that ideal. Little by little, day by day. And it may not be easy, but we will get there together.”
“More to the point, they created state-sponsored discrimination against transgender individuals who simply seek to engage in the most private of functions in a place of safety and security, a right taken for granted by most of us. Last week our civil rights division notified state officials in North Carolina that House bill two violates federal civil rights laws.”

THE BIBLE IS CLEAR ON LGBT AND HOMOSEXUALITY

The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13Leviticus 18:22;20:13Romans 1:26-271 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.
God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin (Romans 1:24-27) and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for him to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true with homosexuality.
However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God.Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:112 Corinthians 5:17Philippians 4:13).
