With hearts filled with a complex mix of sorrow and pride, we mourn the loss of Dror Hanin, killed on the border of Gaza while delivering extra food and supplies to Israel Defense Forces soldiers.
Across the country, citizens have been organizing within their communities and collecting funds from around the world to bring a little bit of relief to soldiers who have been stationed in the heat for 9 days, eating only army rations and wearing what little they brought for battle.
Dror's selflessness exemplified the true spirit of Israel. In his death, a wound was cut in all our people, but that spirit of living, giving and loving is stronger than ever.
