A critic of Islam and national defense analyst says the recent decision by a Pennsylvania judge to throw out an assault charge against a Muslim man who was "defending Mohammad" is a perfect illustration of how sharia law is influencing American courts.
As reported earlier by OneNewsNow, district judge Mark Martin recently dismissed charges levied against an Islamic man who attacked an atheist marching in a Halloween parade while dressed like the Muslim prophet Mohammad. Before dismissing the charges, Martin scolded the assault victim, Ernest Perce.
"... What you've done is you've completely trashed their essence, their being," Martin is heard saying in a recording made available to the media. "They find it very, very, very offensive."
Brigitte Gabriel is founder and president of ACT for America and author of They Must Be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It. She says the exonerated Muslim attacker was particularly pleased with the judge's decision.
"He was so proud. He said I am setting a precedent because I want to teach my son a lesson that when you see something like this, you set the record straight and you behave violently," states Gabriel.
"So basically now we have Muslims living in America teaching their children that it is okay to commit violence when you are standing up for Islam or for prophet Mohammad," she laments. "This is no different than what's happening in Afghanistan right now."
According to Gabriel, this incident illustrates the need for states to pass laws prohibiting foreign laws from being used in American court decisions.
Original reports described Martin as a convert to Islam. He has denied that, identifying himself as a Lutheran.
