RE: I disapprove of the redefine marriage in Washington bill
Dear Mr. Warrington:
Thank you for contacting me about the controversial issue of marriage equality. I appreciate hearing from you.
This measure did pass the Legislature. It is expected to be on the ballot this fall for a final decision.
I did vote in support of marriage equality because I feel communities are better off when people care for each other.
I also believe in traditional marriage. My husband and I will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this summer.
Sincerely,

Subject: I disapprove of the redefine marriage in Washington bill
Dear Senator Fraser,
I am writing to ask you not to redefine marriage in Washington.
This does not seem to me to be good prioritization by our leadership. It is disappointing to me that legislators are cancelling meetings on budget so that this issue can be pursued. While I will never support the redefinition of marriage, this seems to be a particularly bad time to prioritize such a divisive cultural issue.
Same-sex couples have all the same rights and benefits of married couples, so it cannot be said that they do not have "equal rights."
This is an important issue to my family and I and it is one that we will keep in mind when we vote. Please do not redefine marriage.
Thank you for the work you do on our behalf.
Sincerely,William Warrington
