Zechariah 2:13 "Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!"
This is not a challenge to emotional worship and praise; but it does warn us against defining our faith and hope based upon how we feel about it. Our flesh (or feeling) are not an appropriate barometer to guide or inspire our devotion and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. We express our limitless gratitude and wonder in our praise and worship – we must not neglect the intimacy gained in silent adoration – to be so consumed with the presence of God that words are insufficient to express our love for God. We must never take for granted that our infinitely Holy God condescends to fellowship with His creation. The willing sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior has made possible that our infinitely Holy God could touch the lives of a rebellious creation.
