Col 2:9-10 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
If God did not provide one more blessing or decided to end my earthly existence, the sweet perfume and comfort of the eternal hope and promise would keep me in His loving embrace. I must never allow my humble gratitude for His immeasurable grace and mercy to find its motivation in worldly expectation more than the richness of His presence – it is a priceless benefit to remember all the goodness of God and the boundless provision of His Holy Spirit. The sweetness of God is not the result of blessings; it is my growing awareness of His gracious care, merciful presence, and loving promise. The fullness of God is not found in our service to God, but our intimate devotion and hunger for God. My completeness is not measured by what I accomplish or my ability to walk in sinless perfection – it is my humble gratitude for what my Lord has given and my passionate desire to live by His commands. We will not experience the fullness of God until we have shed these earthen vessels with their sin-nature and are given our glorified bodies to experience all our Lord has promised. Jesus Christ walked this earth, died on the cross and was resurrected into His glory to reveal our potential and provide our access. The suffering of our Lord and His glorious resurrection were revealed to keep our focus upon the provision, plan, purpose and promise of our sovereign creator.
