Obama “Keep Your Insurance” Estimate Off by 10 million

by KEITH KOFFLER on JANUARY 29, 2015, 11:35 AM
Under Obamacare, 10 million people will lose their employer-provided insurance by 2021 – or one out of sixteen workers – a number that is ten times the original estimate, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
The CBO also estimates that 31 million people will remain uninsured despite a price tag of $2 trillion, begging the question, was there not a better way to do this than socializing the U.S. health system?

Obama wants to bust the caps . . . President Barack Obama’s budget will call for an increase in domestic and military spending that would end spending caps known as “sequestration,” a White House official said, setting up a new source of conflict with Republicans in Congress. Obama intends to announce his plans during a meeting with congressional Democrats in Philadelphia on Thursday. The fiscal 2016 budget, which the White House intends to unveil on Monday, would fund a host of programs that Republicans are unlikely to support. Reuters

Officials sought to bypass Hillary on Libya . . . Top Pentagon officials and a senior Democrat in Congress so distrusted Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2011 march to war in Libya that they opened their own diplomatic channels with the Gadhafi regime in an effort to halt the escalating crisis, according to secret audio recordings recovered from Tripoli. Washington Times
AG nominee Lynch backs Obama’s amnesty . . . “My concerns are furthered by Ms. Lynch’s unambiguous declaration that ‘the right and the obligation to work is one that’s shared by everyone in this country regardless of how they came here,” said Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. But other Republicans seemed less concerned. Breitbart
Defense nominee: We can’t close Gitmo . . . Ash Carter, President Obama’s pick to be the new defense secretary, has told senators he doesn’t see any way to close down the prison at Guantanamo Bay over the next two years, putting a major dent in Mr. Obama’s hopes to shut it down before he leaves office. Washington Times
Obama to fight obesity in hungry India . . . Obama said there is a “worldwide epidemic of obesity” and that he looks forward to working with the government of India and non-governmental organizations on the “issue of obesity” in India. In 2013-2014, according to a survey conducted by UNICEF and India’s Ministry of Women and Child Development, 30.7 percent of Indian children under five were underweight. CNS News
Cuba demands Gitmo back . . . Opponents of President Obama’s steps to normalize relations with Cuba seized on news that Cuban President Raul Castro is demanding the return of the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay as more evidence that it was a bad deal from the start. Washington Examiner

Rampant Obamaphone Phraud

As many as four out of ten phones are given out fraudulently. And you’re paying for it. Check the subsidy on your phone bill.
People are using their friends’ food stamps to prove they qualify! And who knows if their friends even qualify for food stamps.
That’s what I’m gonna do. Maybe I have some friends on food stamps. It’s hard times in journalist. I WANT MY OBAMAPHONE!
Even the original Obamaphone lady has become disenchanted, it seems.

Reflections on Newsboys' George Perdikis and the Apostasy of Christian Believers

Reflections on Newsboys' George Perdikis and the Apostasy of Christian Believers

Reflections on Newsboys' George Perdikis and the Apostasy of Christian Believers

Newsboys
Newsboys (File)
The news that George Perdikis, co-founder of The Newsboys, has renounced the Lord and proclaimed himself an atheist brought shock and pain to believers who have been blessed by their music for years. But now, rather than attacking him as if he somehow sinned against us, we should be praying for his restoration and asking why it is that so many are falling away.
Of course, the good news is that worldwide Jesus continues to build His church and the gates of hell are not prevailing against it, and there are far more coming to faith than falling away from the faith.
But in America and Europe, the large number of those turning away from the Lord or simply declaring themselves "nones" (having no religious affiliation) is a matter of real concern.
Why, then, are so many backsliding?
1) Many were not truly saved in the first place.
One pastor once said, "The reason some people backslide is because they never frontslid." How true!
This is especially relevant in contemporary Christian music (CCM), where it is an open secret that many gifted performers are just that: gifted performers, no more, no less.
I always give the benefit of the doubt and believe the best about people whom I don't know personally, and so, if a person claims to know the Lord, I'll take them at their word unless there is proof to the contrary. In the same way, if a band claims to be Christian, I'll assume they are.
At the same time, I'm aware of claims that only 1 in 10 "Christian" bands is really Christian, while others within the industry have told me that they witnessed lots of drug use, drinking, and immorality among the "Christian" performers.
In fact, one former CCM executive told me that he saw just as much drug abuse and immorality in "Christian" music circles as he did in secular music circles, the exception being that in the "Christian" circles, the performers tried to hide it more.
I hope this is not true today, but for obvious reasons, we should have serious concerns.
2) Many have shallow roots.
In the parable of the sower (found in Matthew 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8), Jesus spoke about the seeds that "fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away" (Matt 13:5-6).
He then explained the meaning to His disciples: "As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away" (Matt 13:20-21).
There are many shallow-root believers in the Body today, having come to faith through a superficial, what's-in-it-for-me kind of message, having no depth to their faith and commitment and no depth in their personal relationship with God.
Yet in today's spiritual climate in America, they might go on for a while without ever encountering "tribulation or persecution" because of the Word. In other words, things are so compromised in so many parts of the Church of America that a compromised believer with shallow roots might fit in just fine with both the world and the Church.
In contrast, a serious believer will quickly encounter opposition from the world, and sometimes from the professing Church as well. Those with deep roots will endure and thrive. Those with shallow roots will not.

John Cantlie Narrates Latest ISIS Propaganda Video From Mosul

Posted: Updated:
The Islamic State has released its eighth propaganda video featuring British journalist John Cantlie, who has been held hostage by the extremist group since 2012.
In this installment, released on Friday, the 43-year-old Cantlie "reports" from Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city, which has been under ISIS control since June. Contrary to what the western media has reported, Cantlie says in the video, Mosul is a stable place with plenty of electricity, very little crime, and a robust health care system.
Cantlie tours a seemingly bustling market to illustrate the normalcy of life in the city. He then visits children at a hospital who have purportedly been traumatized by falling bombs, and discusses the police force's efficiency compared to when the Iraqi government held control. He reads from what appear be printed-out articles, contradicting specific claims in western accounts about ISIS's ineffectiveness at governing. "Life here in Mosul is business as usual," he says near the beginning of the video. "This is not a city living in fear, as the western media would have you believe," he continues as he strolls through the market, demonstrating the working electricity.
At one point, he stands outside, shouting at an airplane flying overheard: "Down here! over here! Drop a bomb! Try to rescue me again! Do something! Useless! Absolutely useless!"
Recent reports have painted a dire picture of life in Mosul, from water contaminationto the spread of hepatitis.
In previous videos, Cantlie had sometimes appeared gaunt, and often wore an orange jumpsuit -- an apparent reference to Guantanamo Bay prisoners -- as he criticized Western governments and warned of his own execution. But in this clip, Cantlie is wearing civilian clothes and looks healthy. With slick graphics and cuts, the video is produced in the sophisticated style that has become a calling card of ISIS.
Cantlie was kidnapped more than two years ago in Syria along with American journalist James Foley, who was beheaded in August.
