‎Jim Vining‎ to Understanding the Times SS Class

Psalms 23:3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
There are times of physical and spiritual exhaustion – the physical can be dealt with by resting our weary bones. Spiritual renewal requires that I return to mercy seat of Christ; reminding myself of His faithfulness and promise. Christ’s promise to never leave us or forsake us is determined by His sovereign majesty – not my emotional desires. If I fail to daily read His Word and seek His will how can I expect to be sensitive to His guidance and comfort. Much of our strength comes from the witness of those that have gone before us along with our humble faith in His immanent presence. The guidance of our Lord requires the strengthening of our spiritual intuition – based upon His word, prayer and our desire to simply please Him. Christ does not hinder us taking wrong paths because often we learn our greatest lessons humbly admitting our mistakes. The overriding virtue that must be held in the heart of every believer is the desire to bring honor and glory to our Lord. If we can honestly declare that Hs glory is our primary mission He will increase our faith, strengthen our weakness and make our journey beneficial to His Kingdom of God.
Read through the Bible in one year – Mar. 19/Mk 16; Josh. 1-3
