Matthew 7:11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
The provision of God is based upon His eternal will and purpose. Trusting God is not defined by my comfort in His pleasure or blessing, it is proven in my faith – when I have nothing to cling to but His assured sovereignty. If I allow my imagination to define God I will never experience the presence of God. True believers in faith never entertain a moment of doubt concerning God’s existence nor do they long challenge His sovereignty. ‘My Father knows best’, should be our credo of life. This does not deny our right to petition and speak our concerns to our heavenly Father; but we must be cautious to not challenge His will. If our prayers are motivated by a desire to know Him as He is, they will be answered and accomplished. If the god we seek is more for our comfort than our transformation, we should not expect His sovereign answer. The sovereignty of God is the catalyst of our faith, our hope, our walk and our purpose. We must remind ourselves of God’s omnipotent control and challenge all human rational, worldly reasoning and emotional doubts.
