Bauer on White House: Why this obsession with homosexual rights?

A conservative activist questions the Obama administration's seeming obsession with the homosexual community and its activists.
"I've never seen an administration so obsessed with pushing the rights of a really miniscule segment of the American population," says Gary Bauer of American Values, referring to recent comments from Vice President Joe Biden.Biden declared June 24 that protecting homosexual "rights" must trump national cultures and social traditions.
"I don't care what your culture is," Biden told approximately 100 guests, referring to homosexual "rights" as the "civil rights issue of our day."
The Vice President was "seeking to mobilize a global front against anti-gay violence and discrimination," The Associated Press said of his speech.
The same AP story noted that Susan Rice, the White House national security advisor, is describing protection of homosexuals as one of the most challenging human-rights issues facing the United States.
The story said anti-gay laws have "taken root" in nearly 80 countries.
The Washington Times reported that Rice "took time away from a variety of global security emergencies," such as Islamist terrorists' ongoing offensive in Iraq presumably, to address the homosexual activists.
Bauer says he doesn't understand this obsession in light of other pressing problems facing the Democratic coalition, including the problems of fatherless homes within the minority community.
"They spend all their time trying to force everybody to allow men to marry men and women to marry women," says Bauer, "when in fact they ought to spending their time trying to figure out how to get men to marry the women they've impregnated so their children with have mothers and fathers."
Bauer says he is also amazed at the administration's disdain not only for Judeo-Christian values, but for the values of virtually every known religious faith in the world.
