CUBAN IMMIGRANT EDUCATES OREGON LAWMAKERS ON OREGON’S GUN CONTROL MEASURES
Lawmakers in Oregon received a fierce and impassioned education by a Cuban immigrant earlier this year on their state’s attempt to pass gun control legislation, current in Senate committee.
Manuel Martinez fled Cuba’s communist regime in the 1960s after being imprisoned for opposing Fidel Castro.
“Don’t sell me this. A very powerful man tried to sell me this 50-something years ago, I didn’t buy it,” Martinez said. “This is Marxism, plain and clear.”
The legislation, Senate Bill 1551, proposes to massively expand background checks to almost every private firearms sale, somehow expecting to force criminals to voluntarily submit to a records check.
“Marxism isn’t coming, Marxism is here”. “[this bill] is a step closer to disarm the American people. Period” Martinez states, pulling no punches.
“They put this dog and pony show saying hey, we are going to protect you. No, what they did was enslave a country,” Martinez said. “They destroyed a country the same way that this country is going to be destroyed if we continue in this fashion. This is what you’re selling here!” Martinez stated, holding up old communist magazines from Cuba.
You have got to watch this man speak, with the great fervor we all feel, who saw first hand how Communism took over his country, with all ensuing atrocities, and how the same thing is happening here.
