Rep. Keith Ellison has sordid connections to Islamic radicals
Democrats ugly connection with terrorism didn’t die with Obama. Top DNC chairman contender Keith Ellison shared a Capitol Hill press conference with a known terrorist-sympathizer
Candidate Rep. Keith Ellison held a joint press conference with Islamic radical Niha Awad, the director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Ellison’s highly-public decision highlights his party’s commitment to pleasing religious fanatics.
Radical Islam’s aggression continues to heighten. We shouldn’t have to share our representative’s loyalty with violent militants. Ellison is a leading candidate to become chairman of the DNC, and possibly even the party’s 2020 presidential candidate.

The press conference was called to protest Trump’s immigration policy and to urge the government to grant more favors to Muslims. Ellison is already a controversial figure because of his deeply embedded ties to Islam.
Journalists have frequently noted that CAIR is aligned with jihadists and fanatics. Reports indicate that multiple board members and employees have been jailed for for terror-related offenses.
Ellison aligned himself with multiple fanatics throughout his career
Breitbart has also published evidence highlighted by critics showing that CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspiratorin a Texas-based criminal effort to deliver $12 million to the Jew-hating HAMAS jihad group, that CAIR was founded with $490, 000 from HAMAS, and that the FBI bans top-level meetings with CAIR officials.”

Multiple foreign governments have slapped CAIR with a terrorist label. Democrats continue to sidle up to the group regardless.
Ex-President Obama’s legacy is marred by his refusal to even say radical Islam. His pro-Muslim agenda was made apparent again and again. The president’s first and only interest should be America.
Ellison’s history is perhaps even muddier than Obama’s. Yet mainstream media continues to gloss over his sordid past.
The celebrated Democrat is a former spokesman for the Nation of Islam who has repeatedly spewed anti-Semitic, racist nonsense. His campaign coffers were enriched by donations from fanatics who openly admired jihad.

As the Daily Caller notes, “…once in office as a Congressman, Keith Ellison more than once hinted that 9/11 was an inside job carried out to create pretext for war against Muslims..by comparing 9/11 to the Reichstag Fire, the infamous 1933 arson of the German Parliament building.”
Nihad Awad, co-founder of CAIR, often expresses repugnant, anti-Semitic viewpoints
Ellison reigned as an important Nation of Islam leader for almost a decade. He raged against “Zionism” and threw his support behind extremists. In 1995 he published incendiary articles in a local newspaper that offered a passionate defense of the group’s anti-Semitic leader.
Although in his May 2006 letter of apology to the Jewish community Ellison claimed that ‘at no time did I ever share [the Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan’s] hateful views…he actually did espouse anti-Semitism – and quite publicly, at that.”
Ellison’s radicalism didn’t die in the 90’s. He refused to clean up his act until he was thrust into Congress on the strength of a $50,000 donation from CAIR, a group that was originally embedded within Hamas.

Hamas is a brutal terror cell comprised of Muslims intent on destroying Israel. Throughout his life and career, Ellison repeatedly mixed himself up with the group.
CAIR’s founders are so radical that they can barely hide their glee when talking about terrorism. “I’m in support of the Hamas movement,” said Nihad Awad in a 1994 speech. “Fighting for freedom, fighting for Islam, that is not suicide. They kill themselves for Islam,”said Omar Ahmad. It takes a particularly immoral man to glorify suicide bombers. Yeah, a man who straps a bomb to his chest and deliberately walks into a crowd is a real hero.
Ahmad is so enamored with jihad that he preached its “value” to children.
Awad and Ellison’s relationship is disturbing
Ellison did not put his radicalism behind him, however, once being elected – despite basking in positive press as the first Muslim Congressman. In video footage that can be found on any number of websites, Ellison winkingly promoted the dangerous libel that 9/11 was an inside job, with the implication that it was done to justify war against Muslims.”
Shouldn’t Democrats be worried that the man about to elevated to the head of their party holds repugnant views?
Ellison surged to popularity on a wave of identity politics. It’s like he was plucked from the dreams of a Berkeley liberal. He’s a black Muslim living in a wildly left-wing town. The media glossed over his ugly past because Ellison is basically a poster boy for the “diversity” the Democrats like to pretend they represent.
Although there are practical political grounds for doubting that Ellison is the man to lead the Democrats back to power, that is an issue for Democrats. The case against Ellison that should concern all Americans is moral. To borrow a term, he is a bad hombre,” writes The Standard.
Laughably, perhaps because his eye was already wandering toward the DNC chair position, Ellison tried to whitewash his deep connection to terrorism in his 2014 memoir. Speaking of the Nation of Islam he writes: “In the NOI, if you’re not angry in opposition to some group of people (whites, Jews, so-called ‘sellout’ blacks), you don’t have religion.”
He would know.
