Obama: I Only Like Bloggers Who Support Me!
WASHINGTON — As the Democrats and President Barack Obama pat themselves on the back for giving almost nothing to fund the federal government, the news media is praising Obama’s crackdown rhetoric on bloggers.
Various news outlets reported on this part of Obama’s speech, after the partial government shutdown was officially ended Wednesday.
The Washington Post ran a blog that was titled, “President Obama trolls bloggers“, while Politico reported, “Obama hits bloggers, radio ‘talking heads’ who ‘profit from conflict‘”. The Huffington Post, or as conservatives call it the “Puffington Host”, titled their piece “Obama vs. Bloggers: It’s War!”.
Fox News was one of the only news outfits that mentioned media’s hypocritical praise of Obama’s blogger comments, with their article titled, “Media hail Obama’s shutdown victory as he rips bloggers“.
The part of the speech that Obama criticized bloggers was when he said, “All of us need to stop focusing on the lobbyists, and the bloggers, and the talking heads on radio, and the professional activists who profit from conflict.”
Yet the liberal media missed the point that Obama’s slam of bloggers and radio talk show hosts is another form of his patented, Chicago-style intimidation. Journalism relies on the First Amendment right of free speech and expression, and Obama’s tongue lashing of the new Internet blogger press is a large concern. If he intimidates and tries to stop free speech and the right of a free press, then where will Obama stop?
