How dishonest is Barack Obama?
So dishonest that he now claims, as his major campaign accomplishment over the last four years, the decision to take out Osama bin Laden.
According to a credible report by Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely (Ret.), a former Fox News contributor, Obama did not order the raid by SEAL Team Six and didn’t even know about it until the helicopters had crossed into Pakistani airspace.
Where did Obama learn about the order by then-Director of Central Intelligence Leon Panetta? Where else? The golf course.
Vallely’s report goes even further: It says the White House was kept out of the decision because Obama and Valerie Jarrett had previously nixed similar opportunities.
“This tremendously serious and sensitive information was relayed by a source who has been very frustrated with the continued dishonesty within the White House as it tries to blame the intelligence community for the Libyan debacle in which Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other brave and dedicated Americans were murdered by an al-Qaida affiliate,” Vallely wrote. “It is reported that frustration is at a boiling point within the agencies (particularly State, Department of Defense and CIA) with the actions and cover-ups of the president and his administration hierarchy.”
I can tell I have my own sources, some of which will shortly become clear, that confirm the general story as related by Vallely.
Not only is Obama running for re-election primarily on a singular foreign policy accomplishment that doesn’t belong to him, he was actually an obstacle to its achievement.
And, believe it or not, it gets worse.
Look what happened in Libya. He sent an ambassador to aid al-Qaida-affiliated rebels who not only ended up raping him and murdering him, but they sent him unprotected to deliver tens of thousands of surface-to-air missiles and other weapons, which are now clearly in the hands of al-Qaida allies.
These missiles are capable of taking down every U.S. airliner on the planet at any time.
And Obama falsely blamed the planned terrorist attack that took the life of Ambassador Chris Stevens and the lives of other Americans on an inflammatory YouTube video made in the U.S. He knew there was no correlation between the video and the attack, yet he insisted there was for two weeks.
It’s not just a question of dishonesty. It’s a question of competence and character.
How much longer can Americans rely on the foreign policy judgment of a man who bows to the Saudi king, who wears a “wedding ring” inscribed with the words “There is no god but Allah” and who takes credit for the Osama bin Laden raid that he had nothing to do with?
Worse than that, Obama quickly identified those actually responsible for conducting the raid, SEAL Team Six – operatives that work in secrecy for obvious reasons – many of whom were later targeted by al-Qaida and killed in an attack on their Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan.
It doesn’t get much more bizarre than this.
There are only three weeks left until the election.
But, Obama will be in office at least until Jan. 20, 2013.
Imagine the immense damage he can do to the national security interests of this country between now and then.
And then there is the almost unthinkable possibility that Obama will fool enough of the people in the little bit of time we have left to win a second term.
That would be an unmitigated disaster for the country – not only in terms of national security interests, but also in terms of economic and cultural recovery.
