Titus 3:7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
There must be an uncompromising devotion to God and His Word. We must abandon human rational to truly embrace the eternal glory set before us. Being and heir of the promise means we no longer place our hope in this world. Life confronts us with change, it is our faith and hope that provides purpose and uses the changes to bring us closer to God. The non-believer is in a constant struggle against change due to his sin-nature trying to make sense of this life without any certainty of a future and a blind compulsion to preserve the present. The believer is inspired by personal change and hope that brings him closer to the wonder and presence of Christ. The non-believer must rely upon himself for some sense of worth usually connected to finding approval from his fellow man. The believer enjoys friendship and interaction with others, but his ultimate pleasure comes from God’s approval. We are justified by grace in the moment of humble repentance – learning to embrace that we are heirs requires devotion, diligence and faith.
