Isaiah 6:1 ¶ In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
There is much we can gain from human relationships – but they do not bring anyone closer to God. Man can encourage, inspire, correct and guide; but he cannot unite my heart to my Lord. It is only in personal humble soul searching that anyone discovers the God who has saved us. We must never allow any person to be so important or valued that the loss would cause doubt or despair in our relationship with Jesus. No desire, ambition, motive, purpose or individual can be more valued than our passion to simply please God. Loss and failure are allowed by God to bring us total dependence upon His sovereign grace and mercy. All human relationships will come to an inevitable end, some much sooner than we would like, but in all life’s trials we must remind ourselves, and others of our Lord’s promise and hope – encouraging all to prepare for our unmerited eternal home in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Read through the Bible in one year – Feb. 13 – Matt 26:51-75; Lev. 14
